OUR STORY
The founder of the company is Reinier van Elderen. After years of working at his uncle and various companies, he decided to start on his own. In 2000, he founded Frigo Breda, a family business at its heart and bought the existing warehouse of Arco Coldstores.
Initially, the main focus was on the storage of temperature-controlled goods such as meat, fish, fruit and vegetables, but over the years Frigo has grown to become an expert in the field of integrated logistics solutions. Frigo has solutions for every stage of the logistics process and offers a comprehensive package of logistics services. The sky is the limit.
At the moment, Frigo is experiencing an immense growth. From +/- 3,000 to 38,000 pallets and with our new site in Moerdijk, our storage capacity increased to about 76,000 pallets. Therefore new partners are continuously joining to meet the high demand for transportation and distribution. Even during our growth, we guarantee the constant quality of our services.
Starting with 8 employees, we have now grown to 130 employees. Also, Reinier’s wife Dagmar and children Ewoud and Mistral help run the business. Together, we are a big family and we ensure that we take care of your logistical challenges by providing customer-oriented solutions.
OUR HISTORY
2000 – Foundation of Frigo Breda | Reinier van Elderen bought the existing warehouse from Arco Coldstores located at Hazeldonk.
2003 – Expansion of the Hazeldonk warehouse | Additional storage capacity of 50,000 m³ and 17,000 pallets.
2007 – New warehouse Eikdonk | Additional storage capacity of 2,250 pallets.
2011 – Start of Frigo Breda Forwarding | New department focused on organising third-party transportation.
2011 – Frigo becomes co-owner of the Easyfresh Network.
2012 – New warehouse Eikdonk 2 | 6,500 extra pallets for dry storage.
2016 – New warehouse IABC | 5,500 extra pallets divided into dry, cooling, and freezing zones.
2018 – New warehouse IABC 2 | Additional cold storage capacity of 4,500 pallets.
2021 – Begining the construction of Moerdijk | Direct access to shipping and an in-house Border Inspection Point.
2022 – Closing the Eikdonk 1 and IABC 2 locations in favour of Moerdijk.
2022 – Opening of first freezing cell in Moerdijk.
2023 – Opening of Moerdijk at full capacity, 47,000 pallets.
