OUR STORY
After years of working at his uncle and various companies, Reinier van Elderen decided to start for himself. In 2000, he founded Frigo Breda, a family business at heart and bought the existing warehouse of Arco Coldstores.
In the beginning, the focus was mainly on storage of temperature-controlled goods, such as meat, fish, fruit and vegetables, but over the years, Frigo has grown into being an expert in the field of one-stop logistic solutions. Frigo has a solution for every phase of the logistic process and therefore, offers a one-stop logistic package. The sky is the limit.
At the moment, Frigo is experiencing an immense growth. From +/- 3,000 to 38,000 pallets and with the arrival of our new site in Moerdijk, our storage capacity will increase to about 85,000 pallets. New partners are continuously joining so that the high demand for transports and distribution can be realised. Even during our growth, we ensure that the quality of our services is continuously guaranteed.
Started with 8 employees, we have now grown to 109 employees. Also Reinier’s wife Dagmar and children Ewoud and Mistral help running the business. Together, we are a large family and we ensure we take care of your logistic concerns by providing customer-oriented solutions.
OUR HISTORY
2000 – Foundation Frigo Breda | Reinier van Elderen bought the existing warehouse from Arco Coldstores located at Hazeldonk
2003 – Expansion warehouse Hazeldonk | Additional storage capacity of 50,000 m³
2007 – New warehouse Eikdonk | Additional storage capacity of 2,250 pallets
2011 – Start Frigo Breda Forwarding | New department focused on organising third-party transportation
2011 – Frigo becomes co-owner of the Easyfresh Network
2012 – New warehouse Eikdonk 2 | 8,850 extra pallets for dry storage
2016 – New warehouse IABC | 7,000 extra pallets divided into dry, cooling, and freezing zones
2018 – New warehouse IABC 2 | Additional cold storage capacity of 4,500 pallets
2021 – Begining of the construction of Moerdijk | Direct access to shipping and an in-house Border Inspection Point
2022 – Closing the Eikdonk 1 and IABC 2 locations in favour of Moerdijk
2022 – Opening of first freezing cell in Moerdijk
2023 – Opening of Moerdijk at full capacity (Coming soon)
