Frigo in Digital Data Square South Netherlands (DDSZ)
From our previous publications, you already know about the project we are working on within Logistics Community Brabant (LCB) to make the Supply Chain more digitalized and sustainable. Increasing the degree of digitization comes through data techniques for efficient usage of capacity and reduction of CO2 emissions.
The global goals of the project, which it will achieve, are:
- Make the Supply Chain field more sustainable by processes based on data. With data techniques, a smarter utilization of capacity unnecessary actions going to be avoided.
- Productivity, self-organization and creativity increase.
- Frictionless working in the chain because manual checking of information is no longer needed, which reduces power relations in the chain;
- Strengthening the innovative capacity of the business community;
- Expanding the open innovation system, with learning communities;
- Developing future-proof employees.
Frigo, together with VDL Steelweld, like one of this project’s business cases, working on the integration of automated trucks into the logistics operations. These electric vehicles can be independent transportation containers with refrigerated and frozen goods, loading and unloading. Using the latest environmental sensors, localization and communication systems ensures that the automated trucks operate autonomously and safely participate in traffic, which accelerates the transition from manned diesel vehicles to independent electric transport.
We are working on further innovation and taking steps to continue developing and growing in the field of automation and digitization to provide our customers best solutions.
